Experimental Printmaking with Sam Marshall - 2 day course - Sat 22nd and Sun 23rd August 2026
Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd August 2026
10am - 4pm (both days)
Join us for a two-day experimental printmaking workshop with artist Sam Marshall. She is the author of the best-selling book, ‘LINOCUT – A Creative Guide to Making Beautiful Prints’, published by Bloomsbury. Currently, she is working on her second book, ‘SKETCH’, which will be published in 2026.
Sam creates linocuts and etchings inspired by her sketchbook drawings, made during her travels around the world. She is passionate about drawing and believes everyone can draw. During this two-day workshop, she will encourage you to use your drawings and sketchbooks as inspiration to create linocuts, monoprints, and drypoints. You will experiment with stencil, transfer, reductive, and additive monoprints. Sam will also show you different ways to reuse old linocut blocks and demonstrate how to use Chine Colle with drypoint and monoprint to bring your prints to life. This will be a fast-paced and lively workshop where you will produce numerous prints and explore new approaches to printmaking.
This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced printmakers. Sam is also teaching a two-day Linocut course for us on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st August.
Tutor information:
Sam is a full-time artist living in rural Northamptonshire with her miniature dachshund, Miss Marple. She also teaches at the Royal Drawing School.
You can read more about Sam on our blog.
All of our workshops are held in our Handprinted Studio, 22 Arun Business Park, Shripney Road, Bognor Regis, West Sussex, PO22 9SX.
